Back in the Fall I committed to celebrating - marking - honoring the changing of seasons for a year and sharing it here. I imagine I’ll be doing this on into the future as I’m really liking the practice. I had high hopes of hosting an in person gathering to kick-off Spring but alas due to the Covid still amongst us we’ve go to hold off on gatherings a bit longer. I will say, that once we are allowed to gather, I will make my gatherings next level thanks to the genius of this book.
The official Spring Equinox was this past Saturday and in lieu of bringing people together I constructed a very simple, very mini, morning retreat for myself. Here’s how it went:
For me baking is a therapy. So I planted my myself in the kitchen with this Business. But Make It Feminist podcast playing.
Made a batch of granola + these chocolate banana muffins which, for the record, are winners.
Then, with a pen and journal as my companions walked to our nearest neighborhood park, laid in the grass, stared up at the trees for awhile and after a bit journaled any and everything that this question prompted for me:
What in you is ready to bloom?
And that was it. A few slow, easy hours. Yummy baked things. Sunshine, trees and reflection about this moment and this season. Of course, please do feel free to use my mini personal retreat idea as fodder for one for yourself. For Springtime, or anytime.
